About the Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a key contributor to Goalsetter’s growth and success, supporting the sales team in driving new business opportunities and expanding our reach

Requirements

  • Responsibilities:

    • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Research and identify potential districts, schools, organizations, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners aligned with Goalsetter’s mission and values. Generate a minimum of 100–200 new leads per month.

    • Corporate and Foundation Outreach: Identify and engage potential corporate and foundation sponsors to support Goalsetter's initiatives. Develop tailored outreach strategies that align with their philanthropic goals and corporate social responsibility priorities.

    • Outbound Outreach: Conduct outreach to prospects via phone calls, emails, and social media, introducing Goalsetter’s mission, educational products, and partnership opportunities.

    • Qualifying Leads: Engage with prospects to understand their needs and assess alignment with Goalsetter’s offerings, qualifying a minimum of 20–40 leads per month for the next stages of the sales pipeline.

    • Appointment Setting: Schedule a minimum of 20 introductory demos per month for sales team members with qualified leads.

    • Data Management: Maintain accurate lead and contact information by consistently updating CRM records.

    • Collaboration & Feedback: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and provide insights on outreach results, audience engagement, and potential sponsorship opportunities.


    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Experience: 3 or more years in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles, preferably in K12 and/or fundraising. 

    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly, professional, and persuasive style.

    • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and driven to succeed and engage potential partners through consistent follow-up.

    • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

    • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot, as well as basic productivity tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and email marketing platforms.

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
